I haven't done a lot creative things lately (apart from the banner for Adam's room), but I had a chance to break out the glue and glitter the other day. A good friend of mine had a birthday and I wanted to pop by with at little card and a present for her. I'm so in love with the owl gift wrapping paper I used for the bookcase in Adam's room, so I decided to use the paper for a card.
I used one of the blank cards I had received in my gift bag from the bloggers convention and instead of glue I used double sided tape (to avoid the paper to wrinkle) to attach the paper to the card. I decided to add a bit of sparkle with some green glitter, but I used way too much glue and it took forever to dry. I guess i was a bit impatient for once (ha ha) and I put my big ol' thump right into the glue/glitter and smeared it all up.
Now I know you should always have a variety of different colored buttons at hand - they covered up the smear and added a little extra dimension to the card.
I know it's not the world's seventh wonder, but I think it came out okay, and it was easy to make... and I got the chance to use more of my owl paper. Have you noticed that I never actual use the paper for it's true purpose - to wrap gifts? I love to much to waste big pieces of it that way.
